River Teme and Wicken's Pool Fixtures
Meet in car park areas from 9:15hrs, depart to pegs, when all assembled, from 9:30hrs (25th June 13:15hrs, 13:30hrs)
*Wickens Pool Silver Fish Day
As a continuing innovation on the 23rd May the usual contest points awarded towards the Tom West Challenge and Veteran Cups will only take account of Roach, Perch and Tench at the weigh-in. Carp will not be eligible for points on this particular day although notable specimens will be recorded and will qualify for the President's Shield (largest fish in any competition). Two keep nets may be advisable.
Newbridge on Wye
When the river is in spate there can be cancellation. Prior notification of attendance to the Secretary/Organiser can therefore avoid personal inconvenience although sometimes the decision to call off can be a fine and difficult late judgement.
We will continue in future to meet near to the River at Brynwern Bridge, 10.00 am prompt, rather than in the Village car park as previously. Brynwern Bridge is on the Wye just downstream of Newbridge. Leaving Newbridge towards Builth Wells turn right (signposted) at the end of the speed restriction, then right again (signposted) after a few hundred yards. Continue along this narrow road for about a mile until you reach the bridge.
A catch and release policy applies at Newbridge on Wye. All baits under E.A. Bylaws for Trout and Coarse fish (artificial flies, worms, bread, sweetcorn, meat, etc.) are normally permitted at Newbridge on Wye.
The following activities are strictly prohibited :- spinning at any time, the use of worms in October, the use of maggots before October.
